BCTF continues to investigate, support and deliver a range of training and other activities
for its association members. These initiatives include:
As part of its commitment to the construction sector, the BCTF has committed to a 3 year programme of assisting in building the Governance skills of its association members. BCTF has partnered with the Institute of Directors to facilitate and deliver a one day course targeted at Governance for Not For Profits organizations. The 3 year commitment provides opportunities for new Board members to gain further training in governance and pass this experience onto others in their association. These courses have been followed by workshops with the BCTF Board on barriers and challenges faced in the sector and the strategic direction of the BCTF. The first two courses held in 2023 have been well attended by representative of BCTF members.

"This is really great news and awesome timing as I’ve just applied to start the next block of work. I really appreciate this. I have been wanting to do some further education for a while. I also found can be quite hard to work out a path of career progression in the trades not having been on the tools – but HR ended up making so much sense for me and for the business. It’s awesome to be able to do some academic study and also be in construction."
